How Cristiano Ronaldo, the world's highest-paid sports star, makes and spends his millions

Cristiano Ronaldo was already the highest-paid athlete of any sport and now he can add a new title: lifetime Nike athlete. Earlier this week, Ronaldo signed a new "lifetime" contract with Nike. He is just the third athlete to sign a lifetime deal with Nike, joining LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Ronaldo also signed a new deal with Real Madrid that will keep the Portuguese national with his club team for at least the next five seasons. That deal, along with some of the biggest endorsement deals in football, give him a ludicrous amount of cash to burn. Find out how he earns his money and what he spends all that cash on by clicking through the slides above www.facebook.com

Manchester United captain Rooney withdraws from England squad

Wayne Rooney has withdrawn from the England squad after suffering a minor knee injury. The Manchester United captain has returned to Carrington for further assessment on the problem after sitting out Monday's training session. However, he may not necessarily be out of United's Premier League fixture with Arsenal on Saturday. The England international was due to be rested in Tuesday's friendly with Spain at Wembley by interim manager Gareth Southgate, so an early release from the Three Lions' camp is a logical precaution. Jose Mourinho will already be missing striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Arsene Wenger's Gunners after the Swede picked up a suspension for a fifth yellow card against Swansea last time out. Marcus Rashford will be hoping to get the start up front for United, but was forced to play on the wing in the defeat to Fenerbahce while Rooney was in the central role until Ibrahimovic was introduced. Arsenal will be without Hector Bellerin for the clash

Frank Lampard to be offered Chelsea post if he retires from playing

Chelsea will offer Frank Lampard a role back at Stamford Bridge if the former England midfielder decides his playing days are over after announcing his intention to leave New York City in December at the end of his contract. Lampard took to social media on Monday to confirm his time at the Major League Soccer club had come to an end after 15 goals in 31 appearances, culminating in defeat by Toronto in the play-offs this month, with confirmation of his next move to follow “very soon”. The 38-year-old, who won 106 England caps, is to decide whether to move into punditry or coaching, a career choice for which he has previously expressed enthusiasm, but will field interest from Chelsea whichever path he chooses to take. The Premier League club will offer their record goalscorer either an ambassadorial role or a position on the coaching staff, depending upon his ambitions, as they seek to retain close links with their most successful generation of players. There is a desire within the cl

Schweinsteiger: I am ready whenever Mourinho needs me

Bastian Schweinsteiger has told Jose Mourinho that he is ready to give his all for the team whenever the Manchester United manager needs him. The former Germany international has yet to feature in a competitive game this season after being deemed surplus to requirements by Mourinho at the start of the campaign. He was recently welcomed back to first-team training, though, and is desperate to start playing games again. "I am trying to keep myself fit for the situation in which I am needed," Schweinsteiger was quoted as saying by Eurosport. "Hopefully I will be given a chance. I look forward to training every day and being able to train with the team. I do not know if I will get a chance but I hope so. If I am needed, I will give everything - I am ready. "I still feel fit at 32 and certainly want to play more years at the top level and, of course, I want to win things. We won the FA Cup last year and that was also one of my aims. Of course it would be great to p
The truth about Donald Trump's hair: Former hairdresser reveals the lacquer, home cuts... and if it's real.. Donald Trump’s former hairdresser has revealed the secrets of his infamous barnet for the first time. Amy Lasch, 52, has told how the president-elect shunned professional stylists and even got his own family to cut his locks. She described his blond dye job as a “calamity” and revealed he used so much lacquer to achieve his trademark style his hair was “solid and matted”. And Amy, who worked with Trump on early seasons of the The Apprentice USA, dismissed rumours the businessman wore a toupee or had a hair transplant. She said: “He has really long hair and he combs it back straight. © Provided by Mirror “He does it himself. It is real and it is his hair – he doesn’t have plugs.” Amy continued: “When I looked at the back of his hair I could tell it was not a hairdresser cutting it. It was scary. It was just cut in a straight line. “The colour was so
